Artie Handz, known onchain as Punk7635, is a crypto art collector, curator and the head of marketing at Verse, the curated digital art platform. He came to the space from an unusual direction: a former attorney, private pilot and fifth generation cattle rancher from a large family ranch in Wyoming. A Wall Street Journal article about NBA Top Shot over Christmas 2020 pulled him in, and he made early bold moves including a roughly 20,000 dollar purchase of a LeBron James tribute dunk moment. From sports collectibles he moved deep into crypto art, buying the CryptoPunk that gave him his name shortly before the 2021 surge and building a collection of thousands of NFTs. At Verse he moved from collector to platform insider, and he founded his own curatorial label, Artie Galerie, which presents exhibitions on Verse. Its shows include ScheduledProgramming by Frank Manzano, Collection by Serezha Galkin, and The Book of Hope by Kirill Semenovich. He is a frequent podcast guest on collecting culture, including the NorCal and Shill and Waiting To Be Signed shows.
