Nuclear Samurai

Artist

Nuclear Samurai is a crypto artist based in Melbourne, Australia, who works mainly with AI. He came out of commercial photography: after high school he went straight into work and kept art as a hobby, then studied photography and returned to formal education as a mature age student in his late twenties. He has said the drive to make things has been a way of coping with neurodivergence. His work is meta contextual, circling back on what AI is and what it is doing to the culture that uses it. He is part of the Exquisite Workers crew and a member of DoomedDAO, and he shows on SuperRare, Verse, Transient Labs, Ninfa, Foundation, and daily.xyz. He took second place in a Claire Silver AI contest and was selected for the Medici Emerging Collection 23, and his work was hung at Superchief Gallery NFT at the Oculus in New York for the AI Surrealism show in 2023. He is a 6529 Memes artist: his card ONLY WINNERS SURVIVE is Meme Card 300. He is best known now for two large projects, BRAINROT, a 10,000 piece collection built by an agentic pipeline, and X FIGURES, a run of 404 action figure mockups made from XCOPY's on chain work.

He builds images with generative AI and then edits, curates, and stages them, often as characters set in ruined or overloaded worlds. Named lines include BRAINROT, X FIGURES, XNORMIES, THE TOYBOX, THE FEAST, HUNTER, and MEATSCAPES. He also releases short films through Transient Labs, including ORDER and DAISIES. Alongside the one of one work he runs numbered, legible series so collectors can follow a clean lineage from piece to piece.
