MLow X Dave Krugman
An in person Brooklyn conversation with photographer and Allships founder Dave Krugman on community as the root of all value, mycelium networks, and the zero ETH listing MLow helped him survive.
Dave Krugman is a New York photographer, writer and community builder, and the founder of ALLSHIPS, a creative community named for the idea that a rising tide raises all ships. His photography is a study of how people intersect with cities, built from environmental portraiture and candid street work, and he spent years shooting commercial campaigns for clients including Ducati, Jaguar, Don Julio, Honda, Patron, Sony and the Four Seasons before he brought the same eye onchain. He was an early photographer in the NFT market and has argued consistently that community is the root of all value and that money only moves value around rather than creating it. ALLSHIPS grew from that position into a publication, a podcast and an events programme covering art, technology and AI, and it functions as the connective tissue around his own drops. His work has been written about in The New York Times, Bloomberg, GQ, The Art Newspaper, CoinDesk and SuperRare Magazine, and he won the ABS Digital Art Prize in 2024. His current long project is WINDOWS, an onchain portrait of New York.
Krugman shoots street photography and environmental portraits, mostly in New York and mostly at night, and releases them as structured onchain collections rather than one off drops. DRIVE aggregated a decade of vehicle photography into 111 and then 333 pieces, DRIP DROP turned 1,111 photographs into something that behaves like a generative set, and ROLLS drew a parallel between a roll of film and a block. WINDOWS is his largest structure, an onchain portrait of New York across windows, buildings and neighborhoods.
