Coldie

Coldie is a California based mixed media artist whose stereoscopic 3D collages have been part of the visual language of crypto art since 2017. He builds portraits in layers, then flattens them into red and blue anaglyphs meant to be viewed through 3D glasses, and later into animated rotations and interactive works. He released his first crypto art in early 2018 on R.A.R.E Art Labs, and is believed to be the first digital artist to tokenize stereoscopic work. In 2019 he was part of the small group of early ERC-721 artists who pushed for the 10 percent secondary royalty that became standard across NFT marketplaces. His long running Decentral Eyes portrait series turned the faces of the industry into collectible objects, and his later Filthy Fiat and Overlords bodies of work aim the same treatment at central banking and at the founders of big tech. He has shown in national juried exhibitions, at crypto conferences and in live auctions, including the Bonhams and SuperRare CryptOGs sale of NFT pioneers. He is also an active collector and curator who puts a large share of every sale back into work by his peers.

Coldie makes stereoscopic 3D collage portraits, layering up to fifteen planes of imagery so the picture has real depth through red and blue glasses. The Decentral Eyes series portrays figures from crypto and finance, Filthy Fiat attacks paper money and central banking, and Overlords turns the same lens on tech founders. His recent Tech Epochalypse and kinetic works let the viewer move the collage layers, built around his mantra of touch the art.
