MLow X AC The Collector, 6529 Capital
AC of 6529 Capital tells the full story of buying the Goose out of the 3AC liquidation, then lays out a fund's theory of generative art, dialogue, auction houses and memes.
Bharat Krymo is a digital art collector, angel investor and General Partner at 6529 Capital, the fund built around Punk6529 that buys grail works across one of one art, generative art and other on chain collections. He bought his first bitcoin in late 2015, moved into ether, then went down the DeFi rabbit hole in 2018 and 2019. His first on chain purchases were in 2018, but he dates his real entry into digital art to the fourth quarter of 2019, when he started with what he calls the triumvirate of XCOPY, Hackatao and Coldie, picking up pieces for under one ETH on SuperRare and KnownOrigin. He had collected physical art first, and says the promise of provenance and a direct, frictionless purchase is what pulled him across. His collection now runs past a thousand works and has widened from one of ones into Art Blocks generative work and NFT photography. He became one of the earliest power users of oncyber, opened one of the first galleries on the platform, and built Musee d'art, a series of curated rooms of roughly fifty pieces each so his collection could be seen rather than sit in wallets. He later joined oncyber to lead strategy and growth.
He collects broadly across one of one crypto art, generative work from Art Blocks and NFT photography, and has said his early collection was almost entirely one of ones before other collectors pulled him into generative and photographic work. He is best known for curating rather than hoarding: the Musee d'art galleries on oncyber and his museums in the 6529 metaverse exist so the pieces can be viewed by anyone with a link. His stated advice to new collectors is to study the history of the space, run a plan, fade the herd and avoid FOMO.
