BatSoupYum of 6529 CAPITAL

BatSoupYum is a pseudonymous digital art collector and part of team6529, the group around Punk6529. He came to crypto from bitcoin and from venture and liquid token funds, and found NFTs in late 2020 by accident, while trying to place a bet on the Trump versus Biden election on Polymarket. He struck up a conversation with Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan, saw that Coplan was buying art on SuperRare, and at first thought the whole thing was idiotic. Beeple's 69 million dollar Everydays sale in March 2021 changed his mind, and he began collecting seriously that year. He met Punk6529 at a bar during NFT NYC in late 2021 and joined the team because the mission lined up with his own. He now helps run 6529 CAPITAL and its NFT fund, and he votes and argues for pieces inside The Memes by 6529. He insists he has no formal art training and resists being cast as a tastemaker. He almost never sells, comparing collecting to staying for all ninety minutes of a football match, and in 2025 he launched UPRISING.ART, an annual programme putting money behind emerging on-chain artists.

He collects one of one crypto art with a bias toward early and historically loaded work, from Rare Pepes and Robbie Barrat AI nudes through XCOPY, Claire Silver, Matt Kane and Niceaunties. His holdings also include CryptoPunks, an Autoglyph, Justin Aversano Twin Flames and Drifter Shoots photography. His public collection is shown as the BATSOUPCAVE museum inside the 6529 metaverse, and he favours art that uses what is native to the digital, not work that imitates paint on canvas.
